Wang Zhongshi (male, born in 1939, CPC member, professorate senior engineer, national labor model, and awarded special government allowances of the State Council) is an expert in heavy nonferrous metal smelting, and now serves as the senior consulting expert of China ENFI Engineering Corporation.

He is one of the experts that mastered earliest new technologies related to the “closed blast furnace for lead smelting”, and organized the key project - Northwest Lead and Zinc Smelter in the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan.

He has undertaken the design, scientific research and technical guidance of more than 40 large- and medium-size nonferrous metal smelters. His footprints can be found in copper, lead, zinc and gold smelting enterprises all over the country (Northwest Lead and Zinc Smelter, Shanghai Smelter, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Smelter, Xinjiang Smelter, Yunnan Smelter, Shenyang Smelter, Henan Zhongyuan Gold Smelter, Zhuzhou Smelter, etc.). A range of smelting enterprises located in different parts of the country, whose design was conducted by him, are running fruitfully and playing a decisive role in the nonferrous metals industry of China. Together with his colleagues, he creatively solved many technical problems in the fields of heavy nonferrous metals smelting, and especially, made outstanding achievements in lead and zinc smelting. He’s one of the experts that mastered earliest new technologies related to the “closed blast furnace for lead smelting”, the program developer and major participator of industrialization test of Xidatun Zinc Smelter (the first zinc smelter with electric furnaces in China), and the preliminary designer for replacing reverberatory furnaces and manual casting with low-frequency induction furnaces and disc casting machines in zinc smelting. He played a pioneering role in promoting and applying new processes, technologies and equipment for nonferrous metals smelting, and made achievements one after another.
